Liquid biopsy is a revolutionary technology that utilizes non-solid biomolecules, such as blood and urine, for the detection and analysis of chronic diseases like cancer. Liquid Biopsy is a cutting-edge diagnostic procedure that uses a quick blood test to non-invasively identify graft rejection at an early stage.
This non-invasive method collects liquid biomarkers that contain fragments shed by tumors, making the sample collection process simple and less risky compared to traditional tissue biopsy. The analysis of these liquid biomarkers, such as ctDNA and our proprietary markers , allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the tumor.
Liquid biopsy is a test that detects cancer cells or DNA that is present in the blood. This DNA is known as circulating tumor DNA or ctDNA. Cancer cells die and are replaced just like healthy cells, when they die they release DNA into the bloodstream, a liquid biopsy is able to detect these small fragments of DNA in the blood, which come from the cancer cells.
Step 01
Post-transplanted, the patient’s blood is collected. Plasma is separated from the the blood cells and our proprietary markers is extracted from it
Step 02
The sample is subjected to targeted screening of markers on our proprietary markers for differentiating Donor and recipient our proprietary markers with just the recipient sample.
Step 03
Trunome uses just a blood sample to monitor the transplanted graft’s health
- Non-invasive: Unlike traditional surgical biopsy, liquid biopsy is non-invasive, which means it is less painful, less risky and more comfortable for patients.
- Repeatability: Liquid biopsy can be performed multiple times, which allows doctors to monitor the progression of the disease over time and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Better detection of secondary tumors: Liquid biopsy can detect secondary tumors that may be missed by traditional surgical biopsy.
- Early detection: Liquid biopsy has the potential to detect cancer recurrence and graft rejection / injury of post-transplanted patients
- Tailored approach: Liquid biopsy provides a more complete understanding of a patient's cancer, which allows doctors to create a more tailored treatment plan for each individual patient.
